Even the Greatest Was Once A Beginner

We've all heard Muhammad Ali's famous quote "Even the greatest was once a beginner."

It's true.

...and if you were to ask anyone who's gone out and become truly great at their craft...

They will tell you the same.

They will tell you about the embarrassment they felt when they started.

They will tell you about the frustration when they tried their hardest and failed.

They will tell you the shame they felt when they messed up or disappointed people.

They will tell you about all the people who laughed at them.

They will tell you about how stupid they looked in the beginning.

They will tell you about all the reps it took for them to get where they are now.

They will tell you about the countless hours they've poured into becoming great.

The journey is the same for everyone.

Not just you.

Do you see how you thinking you're going to pick something up and be great at it the first time you try is so absurd?

How does that make any sense?

It doesn't.

When you put yourself in the game...

At first ... you're going to look stupid.

You're going to be laughed at.

You're going to be ridiculed.

You’re going to screw

up.

You're going to be told to step back in line.

Don't let that keep you from going out to put in the hours and the reps required to become a true master…

…most people do which is why most people never amount to much.

Swallow your pride and get to work.

You will never be great at anything if you're too scared to look stupid in the beginning or along the way.

That's the truth.
